Some say high school is hell on earth. Starr Manning was starting to believe that---until she met Cole. Cute, smart, a football player with a killer smile; Starr nearly dropped dead when she realized Cole was into her. Their second date was going great until Cole flipped out on Starr and trashed a room. Turns out he abused steroids to up his performance on the field. Angry, scared, confused, but still drawn to Cole, Starr was horrified when she found out Cole's mother is Marty Saybrooke. The same Marty Saybrooke her father, Todd, raped in college. Their parents' hatred goes back to before they were born; Todd's accusing Marty of using Cole as payback for his crime years ago, and Marty's forbidding Cole from seeing Todd's daughter. All Cole wants is to make up with Starr, and all Starr wants is for her problems to just go away. Maybe they were right about high school.
